In order to reduce the height and to work with the steep slope, the house cascades down from the top in three levels: living/dining/kitchen (Great Room) on top, master bedroom suite and office in the middle, two bedrooms and a play room on the bottom.

The exterior materials were chosen to be compatible with the heavily wooded site and with neighboring houses. Note the painted wall studs visible behind the many windows.

Despite using all of the allowed square footage, the house fits comfortably into its remarkable surroundings.
